Night Vision's Top 5 Cyril Hahn Tracks

Cyril Hahn in Edmonton in 2014

Cyril Hahn in Edmonton in 2014

Last week we brought you our Top 5 Favourite Walker & Royce tracks in anticipation of our December 18th show.  We had a ton of great feedback and excitement from that post so this week we're back with our favourite track selections from our second headliner, Cyril Hahn!

If you're unfamiliar with Cyril Hahn's music, he is known for his silky, smooth rhythms, his soft, elegant vocals, and euphoric melodies. Don't forget to grab your ticket to see both these excellent artists (click here) Without further adieu, to get you in the mood, Night Vision's Top 5 Cyril Hahn releases!

1. Destiny's Child - Say My Name (Cyril Hahn Remix) [Self-Released]

Going chronologically by release date, the first track to make our list is Cyril's breakthrough success, and still his best known work to date. Having racked up nearly 16 million plays on YouTube already, this free download really put Cyril in the international spotlight. When it started making its rounds in the fall of 2012, it was getting played by everyone from Annie Mac to Tiësto to Jamie xx to Bicep, and for good reason. We dare you not to love this track. It's impossible.

2. Solange - Losing You (Cyril Hahn Remix) [Self-Released]

Cyril's 'Losing You' remix is still one of his most club-ready tracks to date. With a warm, thick underlying bassline, beautiful arpeggiated chords, and Solange Knowles' powerful heartbreak vocals, this one's a true emotional gem. It's a perfect night-ending song that just puts the whole dancefloor in a daze of euphoria.

3. Cyril Hahn - Perfect Form ft. Shy Girls [PMR Records]

On his first original production EP release, Cyril really came through demonstrating his ability to write and produce astounding original material with fresh vocals. This dreamy piece of catchy house music really hits the spot, and spawned a number of fantastic remixes from Kaytranada, Henry Krinkle, and No Artificial Colours.

4. Cyril Hahn & Javeon - Breaking [Virgin EMI]

2014 brought us Cyril's stellar second EP of originals and marked his major label debut. The slow jam featuring Javeon hit the mark for us, with unque synth stabs all over the track, and a vocal that gets stuck in your head for days.

5. Wet - You're the Best (Cyril Hahn Remix) [Columbia Records]

In Cyril's most recent remix, he decided to go in a very different direction, embracing acid house for the first time that we've ever heard it from him. But it's a stylistic change that we embrace with open arms, as the juxtaposition between dark and light in this track sets a truly unique tone.

We hope you join us to see this excellent artist and DJ on December 18th. Click here for tickets.
