Feb 26. Night Vision presents...

J. PHLIP
===============
(San Fransisco US) - Dirtybird
https://soundcloud.com/jphlip

Jessica Phillippe is diehard, born with true grit and skills to pay the bills. She is an essential part of the world renowned Dirtybird crew, club and festival tours are a regular occurrence, and releases on Claude VonStroke's highly respected imprint, and elsewhere too, have established her as a reputable source of dancefloor killers. People from Skream and Tiga to techno dons Surgeon and Dave Clarke and a bunch of other influential heads threw their weight behind her first truly analogue workout, 'Coefficient', while her latest tech-heavy banger 'Say My Name', which is has been doing immense damage to clubs all over the world, has peaked the interest of Eats Everything, Danny Daze and Huxley on the floor, and taking to the airwaves courtesy of B.Traits, Monki and 1 xtra’s MistaJam . All that hard work has put her up there with the industry's female elite; Nina Kraviz, Heidi, Maya... Go hear J.Phlip in action and you can expect to experience a full booty workout and have your mind blown. You'll be surprised, energized and occasionally weirded out. This is a lady who knows her stuff, yet continues to refine her craft. Her aim is dancefloor lobotomy, all the while taking the greatest pleasure in seeing the people get loose. A DJ not afraid to put her vision out there, Jess is to thank for passing Eats Everything’s mighty “Entrance Song” to Voitek and Greg (Catz n Dogz) at Pets and the later introduction to Barclay (Claude VonStroke) and Dirtybird. She's embarked on several tours of Europe and the US, attracting an ever-growing fanbase with each electrifying performance. Spending 3 years living and DJing in Berlin has helped Phlip to gain an understanding of the European market – she was only supposed to be there for 5 months, but ya know, there's some kind of time warp in Berlin that does that to people. 2014 already involves more action than a James Bond movie with another tour of Europe in full swing, dates all over the United States including three residencies: Detroit, Miami and San Fransisco – plus there's plenty more production work in the pipeline. Hold tight for yet more analogue awesomeness.

Don't take our word for it, go check her out yourselves... and be prepared to lose your shit. That's what's up.

SHAEDES
===============
(Edmonton, Canada) - Night Vision
https://soundcloud.com/shaedes
Formed in early 2014, Shaedes is the musical brainchild of Edmonton-based producers Gavin Delainey and Michael Mannerow. Brought together by their mutual affinity for bass driven music, the Alberta duo made their mark on the local scene with their debut EP “The Middle”, released on Night Vision Music. ‘The Middle” draws influence from both west coast bass culture and the UK’s ever-present garage scene. With a second EP on the horizon, as well as a dazzling remix of NVS’s ‘Breathe’ already out on JG records, 2015 looks to be a breakout year for this duo.

KANT (“edge” in Danish) refers to the unconventional, the exciting, the cusp--these characteristics are well represented in the music of one of Denmark’s fastest growing producers. His brand of soulful, bass heavy house music lends itself to both the club and the after party. He made big waves this past year with a worldwide touring schedule, multiple chart topping releases, and heavy radio support from BBC Radio 1, including Pete Tong, Annie Mac, and Danny Howard. Aside from his original productions, his remix abilities have stirred up interest from major labels across the globe, lending him the opportunity to rework tracks by MØ, Thomas Azier, Klingande, Tomas Barfod, and more.

Dec 11 - Fake Blood and Sinden in Edmonton

Dec11. Night Vision presents...

Two dance music legends from the UK together in Edmonton for the first time.

FAKE BLOOD (UK)
===============
https://soundcloud.com/fake-blood
British DJ, producer, and musician Fake Blood — also known as Touché, One half of Black Ghosts, one half of Wiseguys, and by his birth name Theo Keating — first made his name as one half of the duo The Wiseguys. Keating and Paul Eve made up a two-man power house of a hip hop/big beat band. The two garnered a lot of fame and respect when their singles “Start the Commotion” and “Ooh, La La” got picked up for Mitsubishi and Budweiser commercials, respectively. As Fake Blood, Keating shows the world his chops as a house artist. He’s released countless original anthems such as MARS and “I think I Like It”, plus heaps of massive remixes. Which got him the attention of Pete Tong for a BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix. His taste is eclectic. His style is rich. You never know what will happen next with Fake Blood on the decks. All you know is the man knows house music like very few in the game.

SINDEN (UK)
===========
https://soundcloud.com/sinden

SINDEN
Biography

DJ, producer, remixer, label boss... for nearly a decade now Graeme Sinden has stealthily been establishing himself as one of the leaders of UK dance music as we know it.

The pair would go on to release their debut album as The Count and Sinden on Domino Records, featuring a wealth of special guests including the Mystery Jets and a young Katy B. “There was a big collaborative ethos within the group – Jesse Rose, Switch, Herve, Trevor Loveys and myself would frequently as a unit all make music with each other,” Graeme recalls. “That’s when we started that whole wave of new house music with basslines, inspired by the jacking house of Chicago and NY but mixed up with a UK sensibility – basslines from jungle and odd leftfield approaches. It was reactionary to all the really boring house that was around.” Sinden himself has helmed four releases on Grizzly – two collaborations with SBTRKT in ‘Midnight Marauder’ and ‘Seekwal’, and this year’s ‘Pull Up Wheel Up’ and ‘Keep It 1000’. This is a label boss who likes to get involved. And he still finds time to remix the likes of Willy Moon, Dr Gonzo, Gucci Mane and Passion Pit. The year 2011 saw him chosen as the official producer of the second Gucci Mane mixtape, ‘Free Gucci 2’, featuring a who’s who of British producers including Hudson Mohawke, Toddla T, Duke Dumont, Mosca and Rustie each offering their own unique take on the biggest Gucci jams. Fast forward to 2014 Sinden was drafted in to executive produce rapper Mykki Blanco’s Betty Rubble EP, has released EP’s on A-Trak’s Fools Gold label & UTTU as well as collaborative releases with Shadow Child, Salva, Astronomar, Brenmar & Azari & III Vocalists SYF and Fritz Helder, has launched his new collaborative project, The Crystal System, via Pitchfork, released an EP on Boys Noize’s BNR Trax label. Needless to say Sinden shows zero signs of stopping his innovative assault on dance music.

CLAPTONE • UP/DT Festival Oct.12th

Sunday Oct.12th
Night Vision is proud to join this year's Uptown/Downtown Festival and bring you one of house music's most mysterious heroes. Check out Claptone on October 12 in Brixx as part of a massive multi-room party alongside Minnesota, Zion I, Knight Riderz and the Night Vision and UBK DJ's.

• CLAPTONE •
============
https://soundcloud.com/claptone

By now we all know that 2012AD proved to be a year dominated by Claptone’s infectious ‘Cream’ track. It became an immediate hit, topping new world charts at Beatport and RA. In 2013 his shamanistic sonic powers really took him everywhere - the mystical figure played 200 shows in 130 cities on 6 different continents. Hot productions to bleed from this shadowy one’s lair include ‘No Eyes’ and ‘Wrong’ which both topped Beatport charts, got played by everyone, were ubiquitous across Ibiza all summer and also picked up plenty of Radio 1 plays from Pete Tong and Annie Mac. But that’s not all, because remixes of the Pet Shop Boys, The Magician and George Morel’s classic house tune ‘Let’s Groove’ also managed to capture audiences under their spell. As for 2014AD, already it has been a whirlwind ride for this avian form as he released 'Ghost feat. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah' and ‘United’, which made #1 in the Beatport Deep House Release Charts. Remixes of the late great Romanthony as well as Klaxons have also got the world hot under their collar and as such 70, 000 fans on Facebook are now clamouring after Claptone’s every move and soon they are to be treated to the wondrous thing that will be his debut album. Featuring lots of fantastic collaborations with renowned singers, it is sure to be a fine artistic statement that sums up exactly what this strange figure is all about.
Deep and woozy, the Claptone sound pairs theatre with tragedy, feel good vibes with acute melancholia and imbues each groove with a Rhodes laced funk, an organic string hook and myriad earthy elements. Up to the present day, Claptone releases have been birthed on Germany’s influential Exploited label but who or whatever Claptone is, it is alive, with a life of its own, evolving and revolving in equal measure, exploring new sounds naturally and forever taking inspiration from long gone and occult worlds

JIMMY EDGAR - Sept. 27

Sept. 27 Night Vision presents:

==============================
• JIMMY EDGAR • (Ultramajic • Detroit)
==============================

https://soundcloud.com/jimmyedgar

In a breakout year highlighted by two EPs and an exhaustive global tour, the most significant shift in techno wizard Jimmy Edgar’s life was the launch of his new enterprise, Ultramajic. Part record label, design house, and metaphysical portal, Ultramajic (created in 2013 and managed by Edgar and creative partner Pilar Zeta), alchemically melds music, design, objects, and installations into a holistic multi-sensory experience. “We are exploring ideas about musical shamanism, digital altars, and meditation through color and vibration,” Edgar entices. Edgar’s fascination with other worlds has never been a secret and Ultramajic marks a milestone in Edgar’s independence as an artist and his emergence as an impresario. “Ultramajic is simply our venture to solidify what we do. The art of collaboration has been lost. In the ‘Age of the Internet,’ we have seen artists become pioneers unto themselves due to lack of communication, and I intend to bridge a bit of that gap with Ultramajic.”
In addition to Edgar’s own EPs Hot Inside and Mercurio, in 2013 Ultramajic released singles by ghetto dub artist Aden (a Panorama Bar favorite) and Creepy Autograph (one of Edgar’s many side projects). Looking forward, Ultramajic projects and releases scheduled for 2014 include the highly anticipated Silicone EP by Berlin-via-Miami bass producer Danny Daze. Marked by a harder, more staccato rhythm, Daze’s Silicone EP (out February 17th), echoes Edgar’s own shift from the festive futuristic booty bass on XXX to the more abstract, jackin’ tech-house on Mercurio and hints at Ultramajic’s deeper direction.
Further exploring the connection between sound and the metaphysical, Ultramajic will also continue the Metaphysix series, a collection of art and music inspired by the Seven Hermetic Principles of the Universe. The first EP explored the concept of Mentalism.Transcendence has long been a vital force in Edgar’s life, guiding his ascent in music and art as he maneuvered between cities, relationships, and mediums. In Ultramajic, musician, artist, and unofficial warlock Jimmy Edgar has everything he needs to transport fans to worlds beyond our three dimensions and five senses. Ready to take your body, soul, and mind on a trip? Step to the front of the line, and leave your baggage behind.

BLOND:ISH - Aug. 21

Thursday August 21st

Night Vision presents....

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈
• BLOND:ISH •
≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

https://soundcloud.com/blondish

Originally hatched in Montreal, but currently based in London, DJ's Anstascia and Vivie-Ann have established their love child globally by proving that they don't fit the quintessential stereotype. Fueled by their sharp taste-maker instincts and technical flair, Blond:ish has not only charmed the industry masses but set themselves to release on some of the most notable labels around.

In the last few years, Blond:ish has carved out a unique production recipe which focuses on the art of creating music that is organic and multi-dimensional. Provocative basslines contrasted with smooth textures and sticky vocals that blend into a genre of house that rebels against being pigeonholed to any specific category.
Recent releases include their psychedelic influenced ‘Lovers In Limbo’ EP out on Kompakt inspired by Blond:ish’s curiosity of the late 60’s musical movement, Lonely Day's (with hunter/game, climbers, re.you remixes) on NM2 (Noir Music 2) being chosen as Pete Tong's essential new tune on BBC Radio 1, as well as forthcoming releases & remixes for Get Physical & Hot Waves this summer/fall.
Blond:ish's innovative and quirky reputation wasn't grown on a tree but materialized in the dark trenches of Cherry nightclub in Montreal. Anyone that has attended their parties can attest that there is something very special about this underground midweek mangle. It's the winning formula of diverse freaks, organized chaos and Blond:ish's genre defying sets that has them still holding their monthly residency since 2008.

This duo rides off each other’s hefty musical knowledge and flawless technique with their diverse personas only adding to the intrigue. Anstascia’s unruly demeanor and creative spark spirals against Vivie-Ann’s scientific and geek-chic flair in a whirlwind of inspiration and contrast. The result is a force to be reckoned with, a vibe that transcends in the studio, behind the booth and more than anything, to the dancefloor.
